Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office arrests domestic violence suspect

After more than two months of dogged pursuit, the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man wanted for Attempting Kidnapping, Domestic Abuse, and Violation of a Protection Order.
On Sept 9, the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office posted a wanted flyer for Nathan Simpson and an arrest warrant was issued.
“These are serious crimes and information was received indicating Simpson was possibly still bothering and intimidating the victim in the case,” said CCSO Detective Matthew Sandburg, the investigative deputy.
Lt. Jeff Hixon and his shift, including Master Sgt. Travis Shroyer and K-9 Hevey, Deputy Alex Britz, Deputy Keith Webb and Deputy Rick Adkins, were concerned for the victim’s safety and relentlessly searched for Simpson, despite that they suspected numerous people of harboring him.
Their hard work paid off, and on Wednesday morning (Oct. 24), Simpson was found and arrested.
A new team member, K-9 Deputy Hevey, was on scene when the team found Simpson who was hiding under a mobile home. Simpson surrendered to Shroyer, Britz, and Webb without incident.
CCSO will make every effort to find wanted fugitives involved in crimes of violence and bring them to justice.
“We take allegations of domestic violence seriously and are committed to protecting victims,” said Sheriff Todd Gibson.
While deputies found this suspect on their own, often they rely on cooperation from other agencies.
“We are fortunate to have Detective Buck Stevenson of the Sheriff’s Office assigned to the OKC Metro, U.S. Marshals Service, Fugitive Task Force,” said Chief Jose Chavez.
The USMS is the nation’s law enforcement experts in tracking and finding wanted criminals.
“The U.S Marshalls have been key in assisting the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office on numerous occasions where wanted fugitives were apprehended,” Gibson said.
